Some nice video card:

I don't think any games require 4GB of memory but according to the product specs, you have room for growth there.  Which OS are you running and is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

If it is running a Sempron processor, upgrading it to an Athlon 64 x2 4800+ (I found em for about $65 on google) would probably help a lot. A new vid card is a must, but make sure whatever you get will fit it your case, especially if it's micro ATX. These days vid cards can get downright monstrous, high(er)-end cards in particular. Slapping more memory in never hurts and it's cheap these days. If you're running XP then 2 gigs is probably ok.

Of course, depending on how much you have to spend it might make more sense just buying or building a whole new rig.  la

Yea, you're probably right -- it looks like that's not PCI Express 2.0 x16 but just PCI Express x16, so you'll have to go with something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162022

Your right foxxy

. The PCI Express 2.0 is backwards compatible with the PCI x16 1.0 and 1.1 slot motherboards.
