i was gonna tell you but didnt have the heart.  I had an asrock board and had to return 2 of them.  I finally went with gigabyte.  Im happy now.  Sorry your having these troubles i know how frustrating it is to be dickin around with this stuff only to have your worst fears come to reality. You've bought a piece of junk.
I spent like a total of 18 hours fuckin with my computer over the weekend i was tryin get my shit to work.  At times i felt like putting it under my truck and running over it multiple times.
For the first time, on my newest machine i went with all name brand stuff that had mostly 5 star ratings and you know what, plugged everything in installed windows,(and i was flinching) but nothing was wrong. OMFG!!  I oc'd my vid card and cpu on settings from someone elses machine.  Everything works like a charm.  GL to you Kay.  Hope everything works out this time.

LOL mac

Ya ringo newegg everyone voted this damn mobo good. I thought i would give asrock a chance since its the sister company to asus. But negative after this. Ive always had good luck with gigabyte. I dislike MSI and ABIT both took multiple poops on me before. Im think i will be getting a Phenom 2 965 from my buddy, 100 bucks. So that makes me happy. BTW can you AM3 board use DDR2 1066 ram? cause i have 8 gigs and dont want to get all new ram.

I recieved an email back from AsRock, i have to fill out this paper work, send it back, they approve and give me a RMA number. Then they said once i send it out usually 7-10 days i should have it back. BAH That puts me a week behind in BC2. What really sucks is i pre ordered the game from best buy, and it will be sitting on my desk march 2....... sad11

An AM3 Phenom II X4 will run the same in an AM2+ board as it does an AM3 board, the only difference is the memory you can use. There is a very minimal performance difference in DDR2 and DDR3, you'll loose at most 5% performance.

With that said, my board does not support ddr2.  From all the research i did i would recommend this board.  GA-MA770-UD3 (rev. 2.1) Its almost the same as mine, just supports ddr2.  Im not saying its the best board, im saying of those running am3 cpu with ddr2.  Do some homeowork though on it, see if it fits what you need. Don't you have anywhere local that could test your system and tell you what's broken?

My hunch remains with the Gfx card being the culprit (hope it's not now that you've sent your mobo away).

I'm intrigued to see how this pans out...
